Yuri Danilov, PhD, is the current Senior Scientist at the Pavlov Institute of Physiology, RAS, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He was formerly a Senior Scientist and Neuroscience Director of the Tactile Communication and Neuromodulation Laboratory (TCNL), Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Dr. Danilov earned an MA in Biophysics from St. Petersburg University in Russia in 1978 and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Pavlov Institute of Physiology in 1984. He is a system neuroscientist with expertise in sensory studies, including vision, taste, hearing, and balance. Dr. Danilov is the primary discoverer and creator of Translingual Neurostimulation technology.

Neurology

Andrea Pokorna is currently an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She started to work at the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (IHIS) of the Czech Republic where she is focusing on human resources in healthcare and support of quality of care. She has 20 years experience of in practice, policy research, and consultancy in quality management and human resources as well as in wound management in nursing care. Her previous experience includes working as a staff nurse at the Faculty hospital and teaching in different levels of nursing schools including universities and Colleges. She is the principal investigator of the project focused on National Pressure ulcer registry development.

Nursing Education

Dr. David L. Brody was named Director of the CNRM, and joined the USUHS faculty in August of 2017. His primary appointment is as Professor of Neurology in the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. Dr. Brody is a board-certified neurologist with both a research and a clinical specialization in TBI and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Brodys research focuses on accelerating implications for better diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of traumatic brain injury in civilian and military populations.

Dr. Wellington obtained her PhD at the University of British Columbia and performed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School, the University of Calgary, and the University of British Columbia.

Alzheimers Disease (AD), which is the most common form of dementia in the elderly and defined by the presence of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the diseased brain.

Professor Dr. Peifeng Li obtained his doctoral degree at the Chinese Academy of Medical Science. He worked as a medical researcher at the Max-Delbruck-Center for Molecular Medicine, Germany. He is currently the Dean of Institute of Translational Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Qingdao, China. His research focuses on the molecular regulation of cardiovascular diseases and cancers. He is one of the pioneer researchers in deciphering the role of microRNAs in heart diseases including cardiac hypertrophy, myocardial infarction and heart failure. He has published more than 200 papers in reputed journals and also presented his work at many national and international professional meetings. He is an associate editor of Frontiers in Physiology-Redox-Physiology, and Molecular Biotechnology. He has been a reviewer for more than 60 scientific journals.
